Bidding a Sealed Bid RFP
Bidding on a Sealed Bid

Online Sealed Bid RFP's work under the same rules and conditions you encounter with normal corporate, government and school projects.


Post Time: when the project is created on the site.

Published Bid Start Time: Time that Bidding on the RFP can begin.

Published Bid Closing Time: Time bidding on project closes. Bid closing time cannot be changed once the bidding time starts.

Bid Time Changes: Buyer can prior to bid start time extend the bid start time and the bid closing time.

Document Updates: Buyer can upload additional documents prior to the bid start time

Downloads: Documents and specifications can be downloaded and reviewed by bidders.

Communications: Each Sealed Bid RFP has its own forum for sellers and buyers to communicate with each other on the RFP bid page.


The forum maintains a public record of all communications between interested parties. Members should check the project on a regular basis to track and questions & answers.


Public Bids-Open: Sealed Bid RFP's that can be viewed by the general public and bid upon by the general public.

Public Bids-Closed: Sealed Bid RFP's that be viewed by the general public, but only invited bidder can submit bids.

Private Bids: Sealed Bid RFP can only be viewed and bid upon by invited bidders. This type of RFP allows the buyer to pre-qualify bidders or to use existing suppliers. The general public is completely unaware a Private Bid is in progress.

e-Mail Notifications: Members who are on an invited bidder list will be notified via e-mail of any changes in bid start time or bid closing time.

RFP Watch Feature: Public-Opened Sealed bid, members interested in tracking or bidding can track changes by signing up with the RFP Watch Feature.

Bidding: Sealed Bids, Bidders can only submit ONE (1) bid per Low Sealed Bid RFP.

Bid Withdrawal: Prior to bid closing time. Bidder may withdraw their bid by going to their control panel (Current bid page) and can delete their bid. Bidder cannot submit a new bid once a bid has been withdrawn.


Bid Viewing: While the Sealed Bid RFP bidding is in progress, no one, i.e., NO bidder, buyer or iSolar Exchange can view the bid results or which Bidder has placed a bid.


Buyers will receive notification via e-mail a bid has been place, but the buyer is not given any information as to who placed a bid or for how much.

Bidders may track or review "their" bids that have been place via their control panel in the current bid page.

Bid Award: The Auction system will automatically award the bid to the low bidder. When a Low Sealed Bid RFP closes, all bidders, the buyer and iSolar Exchange will receive an e-mail listing the bidders and the bid amounts.

Bid Tie: In the event of a tie, the system with award the winning bid to the supplier who placed the bid first.

Buyer Contact Information: The winning bidder will receive e-mail notification, and must log onto seller's control panel, click on Buyers Information where you will be required to complete the iSolar Exchange Service Transaction fee on PayPal.

Bidder Contact Information: Once the Auction Fee is paid, both the bidder and buyer are provided with each other's contact information.

Bidder Rejection: In the event the Low bidder is not qualified, cannot provide a performance & payment bond if required, or cannot or will not meet the buyer's specifications or terms, the Buyer can contact iSolar Exchange and the award will be withdrawn from the low bidder and awarded to the next qualified low bidder.
